Reef camisole & shorts set pattern

Absolutely love this pattern, highly recommend. Not only is it a great pyjamas set but also a lovely summer holiday outfit too.

Love my Reef PJs! The pattern is a perfect combination of simple and well-designed with unique details. I used Liberty cotton
lawn, and the facings on the shorts and top give them just enough body to keep them floaty and cool in summer weather. (My only pattern mod was using foldover elastic for the shorts waist.)

This really soft linen cotton was the perfect choice for a really comfortable and good looking pyjamas !
Easy pattern to sew, sizing was spot on. I’m sharing the pattern with my 12 year old and the shorts fit was good for her in a size 6 and good for me in the 16. I did wonder if I should of been using a curve pattern. Instructions are good and really well set out and easy to follow. The camisole turned out really well. Can’t wait to wear them on holidays !

Although there are a lot of pieces and steps, I found this sleep set to be easy to sew and I ended up with perfect results my very first time. I find them comfortable to sleep in and they are always the first pajamas I reach for in warm weather. I plan to make all of the voile and lawn in my stash into Reefs.

This is a great pattern to have in your arsenal for all ages. I have made dozens of sets as pyjamas for my nieces of all ages, and for myself. They make great sleeping shorts and casual beach outfits. I have also lengthened the cami and made a dress in linen which was great for the beach. The instructions are clear and concise making construction a breeze. The sizing is also good. I particularly like the "security" of the cross over back which ensures that shoulder straps don't slip down and the bias cut makes it super comfortable.
I recommend this pattern to anyone looking for a timeless, comfortable and casual "outfit" for daywear or sleeping.

I had to make this a second time to make sure my thoughts were correct. This is easy to make and comfy to wear. I only wish I'd bought the pattern earlier.

This was a really fun, quick sew. I made a beautiful pj set for the summer months. The instructions were really easy to follow. I am already looking for the perfect fabric to make another set.

I *love* this pattern. I was a little daunted at first as it’s a new and different style for me however the pattern instructions were very clear and helpful. The top and shorts themselves are just so comfortable - especially the camisole to sleep in. I love the style
of the cross over back and the design and amount of ease mean that they are now my most favorite and comfortable summer pjs.

I did make a little modification to the shorts by adding a drawstring instead of elastic (only because I’ve eventually worked out that’s a personal preference for summer pjs in particular).

I can’t wait to make another pair soon.

Made this in a lightweight linen, and I love it! I wear the outfit as regular clothes, not PJs, and I don't find it informal. The shirt takes up a lot of fabric as it's cut on the bias, but that's not a big deal if you plan ahead for it. Wonderful pattern!

I’ve only made the shorts so far (view B) and loved them so much that I already have my second pair — and my first cami — cut out to make next. Don’t hesitate to get this pattern! My first pair of shorts are everyday wearing shorts made of essex linen and my second will be thin cotton pajamas. Such a versatile pattern.

I love this pattern! It's a really straightforward sew, I've made both version of the shorts and they come together quickly and beautifully. The version with the pockets and curved hem is particularly stylish. I found the sizing to be quite generous, but that's not a bad thing for for pjs. Excellent instructions and diagrams. I'll definitely be making more of these.

Recently bought two patterns from Megan Nielsen online. Website is great to use and delivery was quick. The range of designs is fantastic and what I seriously love about the MN patterns is how easy they are to follow, by far the best patterns for explaining and providing diagrams. Just love them!!

I am a relatively new garment sewist and the Reef set is the first project I've completed that I was 100% happy with by the end. I'd read reviews for other patterns where people called them a "satisfying sew" and now I understand what that means! The instructions are clear, the pattern is really well-drafted - no issues lining anything up or understanding what to do next - and I learned some new-to-me skills that came in handy on other projects right away. I used a viscose linen noil blend by Telio for my set and it is super comfortable and looks cute whether I wear it as a set or separates. I plan to make more and to try more patterns from MN!

Made the reef shorts for new pj bottoms, they were enjoyable to make with the additional addition to the hem which also makes them look super cute. Can't wait to make another pair and I have material ready to make the camisole, exciting!!

I've made a half dozen or so of the Reef PJ sets as well as a dozen pairs of the shorts to wear with t-shirts. The pattern has good instructions and was fun to sew. Highly recommend. I am an intermediate sewer.

I have made this set for my daughter and really enjoyed the construction. The instructions are excellent. I'm intending to make myself some PJs for the summer.

I loved making this camisole top. It has a lovely finish and the unusual back is definitely eye catching. I'm planning on making my next one as part of a faux jumpsuit, and my first is super comfy as part of a nightwear set.
