Become a pattern tester
Our pattern testers are a huge part of how we make patterns you can actually trust. Before every release, a group of lovely sewists — of all sizes and skill levels — sews up the new design and tells us what's working and what isn't, so we can get the fit and the instructions just right before they reach you.
Anyone can do it — really
There are no special requirements. You don't need to be an expert seamstress, have a blog, or jump through any hoops — if you love to sew, you're exactly who we're looking for. Beginners are genuinely welcome; testing a pattern with fresh eyes is one of the most useful things you can do for us.
Testers are chosen fairly randomly for each pattern, using a cross-section of sizes and experience, and we work our way through the list so that as many people as possible get a turn. Add your details below and we'll be in touch when there's a pattern that suits you.
If you're chosen, here's the gist:
- Sew up the new pattern within a set window (usually a couple of weeks).
- Give us your honest feedback on the fit, the instructions and anything that tripped you up — you can't hurt our feelings, and candid notes are what help us most.
- Send us fit photos of your make — they help us assess the fit and see exactly what you're describing in your feedback. We never share your fit photos; if there's a tester round-up later, we'd ask for photos separately.
