A jacket with lots of potential

The result was a great lined jacket that has nice drape, fits well. My husband's first reaction was "those pockets are huge". I used a soft, washed denim for the outer fabric and the lining was something I found at a resale craft store. I'm not sure of the lining fabric content but it seemed like a soft washed sheet with an interesting random print. I've done plenty of sewing in my life and was confused by the pockets. I think I actually put them together wrong and had to compensate, but the results were ok. You could put notches or markings for a new sewer that would help make directions more clear. It's a great project for a beginner that would give the feeling of success. I loved the way the sleeves went together and then finally the collar finishing the jacket and it's done.

    Great pattern!

Really loved how this pattern sewed up! The instructions were easy to follow and very detailed and didn’t take long at all. I made view e using quilted cotton and I absolutely love it!

    Another great MN pattern!

I love all the MN patterns I've purchased and this is no exception, I love all the different views and possibilities with this pattern. I made view b with pre quilted fabric and it was so quick and easy to sew in just a couple of hours! I love how the MN team sews so many different samples to give ideas of so many different ways and styles this can be worn. This pattern has really opened me up to the world of quilting and I'm looking forward to making a quilted view D in the fall/winter and a robe from view c in cotton gauze for summer. My favorite detail about this pattern has to be the massive pockets. As a mom, pocket space is imperative. I also love that the pattern suggests to sew a divider in the pocket to separate keys from phone or sunglasses etc. Something so simple but I would never think of that on my own!

    Hovea Quilted Jacket

Great pattern with many great options! I can see making this lined in a long woolen version for fall. I found the quilting challenging to plan out as I am not a quilter but I think it turned out great!
