I got the Ash Jeans pattern as part of a Guthrie and Ghana kit. I’d never sewn a pair of jeans or trousers before so I don’t know what I was thinking. I do like a challenge though and I really enjoyed it. I had to alter the rise but there are clear instructions on the Megan Nielsen website along with numerous other tips, tutorials, inspiration and ideas for making your jeans perfect for you. I’m so pleased with my new jeans and I’m looking forward to making more.
This was my very first attempt at jeans and I was a little daunted at first. However with the help of the really excellent sew-along blog and videos I actually managed to produce a well fitting comfortable and professional looking pair of jeans which I would wear anywhere. The pattern is true to size and I only had to make a small flat seat adjustment to improve the fit on
I made the wide legged pair, with an adjustment for a larger waist but would try another one of the pattern options for my next pair.
Thank you for helping me to achieve what was a long held ambition, this was a project that I had been putting off, as I didn't think I had the skills. It has been a huge confidence boost to my sewing abilities.

Excellent pattern, very good fit, didn't have to make any changes fit really well.
The Ash Jeans are my very first jeans make, despite having sewn for many years. The instructions were good and the sewalong helped in places. I used a stretch denim with about 25% stretch, and made a slim leg in a size 12, but they are a little snug, but I believe they should stretch out a bit after a few wash and wears. Very pleased with the make and will probably try the wide leg next time.
