    Love this top!

I made this top out of Black striped cotton and I absolutely love it. I will definitely be making more!
Haha, my cat Rosie had to get in on the pic!

    Love the Sleeves!

The shape of this blouse is beautiful - I made this top with the B sleeve in linen. Construction is fairly simple and directions easy to follow. I had to shorten the sleeve top piece so the sleeve seam was above my elbow. I will be making more of this blouse!

    Truly Gorgeous Dove Top

I am super happy with the end result of this make. Fit is perfect - just had to adjust one shoulder (my shape) and I added 5 cm to the length. I don’t normally love high/low hems, but it works well with the shape of this top. I can’t wait to make another one (maybe a dress) with the biggest of the sleeve options (I’m obsessing about these!) The only tricky part for me was working out which way the hem facing was attached, but once I went back to the pattern pieces and looked at the notches/markings it all made sense.

    Simple classic style

Love the classic style with options for casual or more dressy with the added sleeve options.
The fit is lovely & l love the sweep of the hem.

    Fabulous top

I’ve made the Dove top three times and I love them all. I love the sweep of the curved hem, the flattering French darts, and the stylish v-neck. My double gauze version without the sleeve ruffle, is perfect for every day. I shortened the flared sleeve for my cotton version, and left them in all their dramatic glory for my Liberty Tana Lawn version.

    Lovely pattern, sleeves too tight

I bought this pattern to turn into scrubs for my sister. Most scrub patterns are a bit meh, and this is much nicer! The fit is great and it's much cuter than normal scrubs patterns.

However, the sleeves were sooo tight. I had to slash and spread after nearly getting stuck in my toile 😆

It is also a little frustrating that the seam allowances aren't consistent. I kept having to check whether I was using the correct allowance.

Overall, I enjoyed the pattern, and with some tweaks and added pockets my sister loves her new scrubs.

Great directions . The sew a long is a big help. Perfect pattern for woven fabric like cotton. Will make more than one .

    Very low v-neck

The v-neck seemed cut too low so I raised it one inch. It is still way too low and I will have to fill the vee with something to make it wearable. I haven't finished it yet but I'm disappointed.

    Dove Blouse

This is a great pattern...probably one of the best patterns I have made. The instructions are clear and my blouse came together beautifully. I especially appreciated the hem facing construction which resulted in a professional-looking finish. This is a perfect pattern for beginner sewers such as myself! I will definitely be making myself more Dove blouses!

    Dove Blouse review

I picked this pattern as a project to get back into sewing. I found the pattern a little hard to follow but the tutorials helped immensely. I am especially pleased that I've creased something that I can wear. Thank you!

    Great Blouse!

Love the look of this top and was very easy to put together. The only issue I had with it was the use of a French dart as it’s difficult to finish off the inside edges nicely. I used a zigzag stitch but it doesn’t look as nice as being overlocked. Also the sizing was a little off. My measurements suited the size 6 but when I sewed the 5/8” SA for the front Centre seam, I luckily checked it before doing the side seam as I had to reduce that SA to 1/4” to make it fit. I will definitely make this pattern again but will adjust the sewing method a bit.

    dove in linen

I made this up in linen, It is a bit straight jacket ish, and I agree with another reviewer that a zip would make it better as I find it difficult to get on and off. Also it would pay to check the bust measurements, I had not realised that the curve patterns allow for larger busts when I bought it.

Great instructions, especially with blog tutorials

I’m a novice sewist, and was able to complete this project relatively easily between the easy to understand directions and tutorials on the blog. One concern was that my printed pattern looked to have been cut into the start of the next pattern - I had some extra lines on my sheet - but none of the pieces I traced for my project were incomplete.

Instructions were very easy to follow. Only issue I have is when tracing out the dart point, found it confusing. I raised the neck line by 1 cm so it’s not too low for myself so If I reuse this pattern, I will add a back zipper for easy wear. Otherwise it’s a lovely pattern.

    Stable Closet Piece, Definitely.

Everyone loves clear, defined and understandable instructions, n that's the reason why Megan Nielsen is among my favourite choice. Thus, the Dove blouse is a bliss sew, an elegance that comes with simplity. I love the fact that it's so versatile, n I sew it with Batik textile, which gives me much room for creativity. It's a stable closet piece, definitely.

    Great basic

I sewed view A of the blouse, which has straight elbow length sleeves. I followed the sew along for all instructions. I didn't do any of the fancy finishing techniques - just tacked the facings at the seam allowances and top stitched the hem facing. This is a great pattern, so classy and special with the hem! I used a cotton chambray and it was perfect.

    Classic blouse with nice details

Dove is great piece to have in your wardrobe. I have made one with regular sleeves, one with medium size sleeves and planning one without sleeves. Instructions are clear and the best thing is you can find step-by-step guide from the blog! Really helped me to get beautiful outcome without growing grey hair.

This is better than my own patterns!

I've made five of these so far. Although I usually make my own patterns, Megan Neilsen does such a good job of drafting and design that I have several of hers now,. They are flexible and as a designer? It's a great block to start with. Thank you Megan from one sewist to a true master. THIS is the best pattern I've used in decades of making my wardrobes! Good job and we look forward to more "fresh" designs from you!
