Just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone for all of your kind words and congratulations!! And a special thanks for telling me you think he’s gorgeous, I don’t think there’s a quicker way to a mommy’s heart that to tell her her kids are adorable!! Of course I am biased, but I really enjoyed the fact that the nurses in our hospital kept fighting over who could cuddle him whenever I dropped him off in the nursery to get some zzz’s. There’s nothing like encouraging a bit of mommy vanity. hehe :)

So anyway, we’ve really been enjoying getting to know our little boy, and watching how sweetly Bunny interacts with him. She’s been such a honey, and yesterday she tried to share a cookie with him, isn’t that precious?! Though I have to say, I’m stunned by what a different baby he is to what bunny was like when she was born. I know people always say that all babies are different, but it’s almost like they’re total opposites!!

Which of course makes me wonder what his personality will be like as he grows up. It was my experience with Bunny that her personality as a baby really mirrors her personality now. So I guess we’ll have to wait and see!

As a side note a lot of people have been asking about whether we’ve picked a name, and we have, but I’m still trying to decide whether I feel comfortable with putting my kids names on the world wide web.

Meanwhile, though I’ve never been a very good sleeper, I’m finally starting to synchronise with his schedule, which means I’m getting a little more sleep and starting to feel more human. Which is a step closer to getting out of my PJ’s! So for now I’m going to try and follow his example, and go take a nap!

Meet our gorgeous son!!!

Born:  3rd March 2010, at 7:19 am

Weight: 8 lb 15oz (I guess that’s why I had been so uncomfy!)

Length: 20.5″

Hysterically, as a lot of you predicted, I actually went into labour 6 hours before I was scheduled to be induced! Just when I’d given up on going into labour naturally, and had set up a post to automatically go off letting you guys know I was in the hospital… ah yes the irony is not lost on me!

Everything went unbelievably smoothly, but unfortunately our first meeting with him was kind of stressful as he wasn’t breathing properly and wouldn’t cry, so they wouldn’t let me hold him, or really see him at all, and wisked him off to the NICU. Needless to say I was very upset, and Hubby was out of his mind with worry. He was up there with Hubby for hours and hours whilst they performed test after test and kept telling us more things were wrong… but praise God everything they thought was a huge issue at first ended up resolving itself naturally in a very short amount of time. So even though initially we were told he’d be in the NICU for days, by the afternoon he was back in our room with a clean bill of health getting lots and lots of cuddles.

Yes I’m totally in love :)

Bunny had a lot of fun staying at a friends house, and is already showing signs of being a wonderful big sister. Our biggest problem so far has been that she wants to hold him and kiss him all the time, but unfortunately she is still learning how to be gentle. I’m glad the only temper tantrums we’ve had have been the result of her not being allowed to hold her little brother as much as she’d like, rather than due to jealousy!

Though I feel tired, I actually feel pretty great, and am just so happy to be at home with my family. Am feeling pretty blessed right now! Now I think we all just need to get some sleep :)

I thought you guys might get a kick out of seeing my beach-ball tummy! It really cracks me  up how much it looks like I’ve shoved a ball up my shirt!

So basically this is what I’ve been up to recently… sewing up little boy outfits (I can’t help myself!), wearing the few things that still fit (desperately trying to avoid sweatpants!) and trying to relax and wait for baby to show up (I totally heart netflix). Today is my due date. *cough*. I’m being induced on Wednesday, if baby hasn’t come on his own by then… so there isn’t really too long to go at all! Though honestly, apart from the fact that I’m uncomfortable, and have been getting really really faint all the time, I actually feel pretty darn good – so I reckon I’m pretty blessed. This has been such a great pregnancy!

I feel a little spoilt actually… my parents arrive from Australia on March 18th to help out and hang out, and Hubby has a lot of vacation built up which he’ll be taking to help me for the first few weeks and to spend some quality time after little boy is born. Of course this has resulted in him directly addressing my tummy every night before we go to sleep with: “Hey, when are you going to be born?? Daddy needs a vacation!!”…

I love how my Hubby always hides little post it love notes all over the house for me to find later… what I love even more, is every now and then when he throws in a silly one. Like a note to me, from the cutlery. I had no idea my knives and forks liked me so much!!

Finding this little note (and one from my laptop), getting to sleep in and waking up to a house cleaned by my Hubby, are all making the fact that I have a really horrible cold slightly more bearable. I think getting sick when you’re 38.5 wks pregnant is a cruel cruel joke! And now like any ‘mature’ person I just need to find some unsuspecting person to blame for my misfortune…

Urgh… cough… splutter
