A hot chocolate date

I’m pretty blessed to have a toddler as sweet tempered and good as Bunny. Unfortunately for the last week or so, she’s been a total grouch. I find that kind of hard to handle because I’m honestly just not used to having a cranky child! I’m pretty sure it’s related to teething, but regardless I thought she needed a little one on one mommy time today. So off to our favourite little cafe for a hot chocolate date!
We had a ball, and when we got home we made necklaces from big plastic fluorescent beads. I have to say, that’s got to be one of the nicest ways to spend a morning. And now that she’s down for a nap I can get to work packing up orders to ship. I think I’ve got a pretty great job :)

So can you believe how big my tummy is? As of today I now have 4 weeks till my due date. I can’t believe it. Of course I’ll probably be overdue, so I’m trying not to get my hopes up about anything happening soon! But I’m feeling pretty jazzed right now, because so far I’ve only put on 25lb this pregnancy. To put that in perspective, when I was full term with Bunny I’d put on a total of 40lb – so I’m just feeling really encouraged and hopeful that it won’t be as hard to get back into shape this time.

Meanwhile, some of you gals have mentioned before how I must be cold in my photos… so I thought I’d lay your fears to rest and show you what I look like when I go outside, before I start snapping away. Coat get’s thrown off, snap snap snap, run back in the house! Voila! Though in all honesty, today was the first day I’ve actually felt cold outside without my coat (normally my general pregnancy heat keeps me warm). After coming back in I checked the temps, and it’s 0F (-18C)… hehe it all makes sense now!! It’s freaking frigid out there!
As a random side note, I totally need to clean these boots. When the weather was a little warmer last week and everything got a little mucky they got covered in gross mud, and I’ve been too lazy to fix them up again. Poor boots!!
I hope you have a really wonderful weekend!

I was wondering more if you have a tripod for these photos, or if you’ve trained Bunny to take the snaps! Sorry I didn’t even THINK about the cold (as I had imagined you dash out and dash back!)!!!
Getting closer now I bet!
I’ve often thought your legs must be freezzing in your photos
Love your style! I’m going to try making your wrap cardigan next month
Very much needed mommy-daughter time and you look like your right about ready to pop
Awe you really are the cutest preggers lady! I hope that I can pull together outfits like you do when I get pregnant
These picture are gorgeous! I can’t believe how big your tummy is from the side, because it doesn’t look nearly that big from the front. Either way, you look fantastic!
Those boots and dress are great together.
love the boots girl!!
You are so beautiful, Megan! And that dress really works.
I’m a longtime reader and newbie commenter and just wanted to say a HUGE and hearty CONGRATULATIONS on the line and on all the wonderful new chapters opening up for you.

oh, such a pretty outfit. i love seeing women that are pregnant still looking super stylish!
OMigod, the first thing I noticed about this look was that wonderful coat and of course it’s made by you! I love the collar and the subtle stripe in the fabric. You make maternity wear so chic!
I just discovered your site! Such lovely designs!! I bookmarked your wrap top pattern for my next pregnancy. I have a very long back (and legs too!), so have a hard time finding pregnancy clothes that fit me right. This looks like it’ll work amazing!!
I’m wondering if you designed your coat, or was it a pattern?
Hi Lauren! I’m so glad you like it!! I also have a long back and have trouble finding any clothes that cover it, pregnancy or not! Anyway, I would love to say I designed the coat, but it is in fact a pattern. It’s McCalls 5766, and I have to say was a pretty good pattern! These are all the posts I did about it…
Part 1, choosing pattern
Part 2, Underlining for structure
Part 3, Interlining for warmth
Part 4, standard alterations
Hope that helps!
