My definition of Fall
Wearing: Pearl Pendant from HK, Navy & White cashmere sweater from my MIL, Witchery T, Old Navy skirt (altered), Anne Klein pumps
Fall = The season in which I desperately wear all of my Australian “winter” shoes & clothes before the frigid winter begins
You’re probably thinking I”m crazy right now, but honestly, the Fall is the only season in which my Aussie winter gear is in any way appropriate. So for me it really is a desperate rush to wear all my fave shoes, dresses, coats etc that aren’t summer appropriate and aren’t at all winter appropriate either. It’s kind of sad really, because a lot of my very favourite clothing falls into that category.
Take this outfit. The sweater is one of my all time favourite items of clothing. Not only does it combine two of my favourite colours (navy and white), but it was given to me by my mother in law. She bought it when she was in college in England, and it’s 100% cashmere. I love love love this sweater, and I love the history behind it.
The scary thing is, when I look at the wealth of shoes and clothes in my wardrobe that I’m trying to make my way through before the snow hits, I’m not sure I’ll enough be able to. It’s a little daunting. I need to pack 6 months of wardrobe into 2 months of wearing (No I’m not exaggerating, the Fall really is about 2 months in Iowa). It’s even harder this year as I’m trying to wear everything that I know won’t fit me soon due to my every growing baby bump, and that only now fits me again after taking a year to lose the residual baby weight from Bunny. Hmmmm
Nothing like a challenge right? Wish me luck, I might just end up looking a tad ridiculous donning many a 5 inch heel, wiggle dress and trench coat to Church, Mommy and Me and the grocery store etc etc… hehe… but hey it would be like throwing money away if I didn’t wear them right??

That outfit is totally adorable! I really admire your sense of style.
Those heels are fab!
I had the same problem when I moved from somewhere that had no winter to somewhere that had winters. All my “winter clothes” became either spring/fall clothes (those seasons last like a couple of weeks here) or things I layer with other things to create a thick winter look.
Love the clothes you makes They are really cute.
