Hello Baby!

preggo-meggo-2

Hi there wonderful people!

I know a lot of you have been wondering what I’ve been up to recently, and a couple have made some pretty accurate guesses! Well, on the very day after I wrote to all of you about taking a breaking and feeling rather tired etc etc I was feeling so ill and out of it that my brain finally kicked in and all the clues fell in place… extreme tiredness, queeziness, lack of appetite, serious amount of bloating, inability to cook a meal without the urge to hurl… no idea what I’m talking about?? Well turns out…

I’m Pregnant!!

2009-07-24-85-wks-ultrasound1

That’s right! There’ll be another wonderful little addition to the Nielsen household next year! I’m due March 1st and we are so excited! We’d been hoping for another, but I’d been trying to be self controlled and not take pregnancy tests every day.

Unfortunately I have been super duper unbearably morning sick. Thankfully Bunny is a very good girl and very easy to look after and Hubby is a trooper and has been looking after us so wonderfully (midnight trips to the supermarket, cooking all the meals, cleaning the house, laundry – what a guy!). So I’ve been able to relax and just cope with the sickness. Thankfully it’s starting to subside, and I’m hoping I’ll be right as rain soon.

Of course that means there’s been a complete and total lack of sewing. But also means my to do list has changed a little, hehe. I was pregnant over summer with Bunny, so all of my maternity clothing is cute little dresses, sleeveless tops and shorts/skirts galore. Not exactly appropriate for an Iowan winter. So I’m planning on making a few winter friendly tops and maybe altering a few pants to make them maternity.

Am hoping to keep you all updated on my maternity sewing as I get my sewing mojo back and the morning sickness subsides. I won’t be able to leave the sewing too long though, as my bump has appeared much earlier than it did with Bunny. I’m only 13 weeks and I haven’t been able to wear regular pants for weeks.  Yikes!

So anyway, heres hoping you guys enjoying watching me get GIGANTIC! hehehe

Congratulations!! I hope the morning sickness subsides for you. I was sick pretty much my whole pg with my last, and Jolly Ranchers totally saved me. Something about sucking on the sour/sweet candy calmed my stomach. Of course, I’ll never be able to eat another Jolly Rancher as long as I live, but it was worth it.

I look forward to your creativity with your maternity wardrobe!!

I have had 3 babies and 9 months of morning sickness all day long…. 27 months total of feeling yucky. With my last baby I found drinking a nettles infusion (tea) all day long really helped and many days was the only thing I could keep down. When the going got really tough, this preggy drank Ensure to survive. ; )

  • Yay you’re back here. I hadn’t checked for a while and finally I did today! talk to ya soon. Liking the new format too! Will you make up your mind girl?!! :P haha
